Dress up your wall yourself!

Have you ever thought about installing a wall decoration yourself, but didn't have the courage? You don't want to waste money on professional service in the era of such terrible inflation?

It's really not that hard, we'll explain everything from the beginning. It is said that the most important step is to decide on action.

Dress up your wall yourself!

1st step - choose the right material for your interior

Our wide range includes wallpapers made on various substrates. They include vinyl wallpapers, non-woven wallpapers, self-adhesive wallpapers, as well as bathroom wallpapers. First of all, you need to consider where the decoration will be installed.

If you want to wallpaper in the bathroom, toilet or kitchen, drying room, and on all kinds of flat surfaces, including those covered with latex paint, the best solution will be to use self-adhesive wallpaper with a very strong adhesive.

The print on this material is covered with a laminate, thanks to which it is resistant to scratches and splashes.

If, on the other hand, you intend to cover furniture or a refrigerator - the best solution will be smooth self-adhesive wallpaper. Here, too, the print is covered with a matte laminate to protect the print. However, note - It should not be installed on old wallpaper, walls painted with latex paint, or in rooms with high humidity.

Self-adhesive wallpaper with a linen structure will work best on smooth MDF or glass, but it will not be a suitable product for rooms with high humidity.

To decorate the walls in our child's room, and the living room, the best solution will be non-woven wallpaper. It is a paper-like material with a matte finish that absorbs light reflections. This type of material is best for beginners, as well as those who have experience with traditional wallpapers. Non-woven wallpaper does not contain PVC, so it is the best choice for a child's room, but not only, it can be installed even in the bathroom after additional lamination. Non-woven wallpaper can be glued on all types of walls and is easily removable.

2 step. Rate the condition of your wall

Before you start installing the material, assess whether the walls are smooth, dry, and clean.

- If the wall is covered with gypsum plaster or plasterboard: start by priming the walls with a primer.

- If the wall is covered with paint - before applying the wallpaper to the wall, it is good to wash it with paint soap, and if the wall is covered with silicone or washable paint - wipe it with sandpaper. This operation is aimed at increasing the adhesion of the adhesive to the substrate, as well as degreasing the wall surface.

3 step. Installing wallpaper

Tools you will need for self-adhesive wallpaper:

- Tape measure

- Spirit level and pencil

- Line

- Working knife and squeegee

- A stool or ladder

- Someone to help, then it will be even easier.

If you want to leave a margin between the ceiling and the wallpaper, use a spirit level to draw a horizontal line.

Measure the width of one panel, then draw a vertical line at this distance from the left side of the wall. Starting from the left side, measure the distance and draw a vertical line to which the right edge of the first strip will adhere.

Hang the wallpaper from above.

Peel off about 30cm of the backing and stick to the previously drawn lines. If you do not leave a gap between the ceiling and the wallpaper, glue the strip from above, leaving a small margin on the ceiling, which you will cut off at the end.

Gently smooth the wallpaper with a soft squeegee or roller to avoid air bubbles.
